Mesolithic bone tool

Field collection: Mesolithic Morton excavation,Tayport, Fife

Spatula-form bone tool from shaft of a long bone (metatarsus or metacarpal) of a large herbivore, probably red deer (cervus elephus) or wild auroch (bos primigenius). At Morton tools made from deer bones were worn smooth on one end.
