Bronze palstave. Middle Bronze Age, 3,000 - 3,500 years ago

Field collection: Tealing, Angus

Bronze palstave with flanges and a deep stop-ridge. The stop-ridge unites with the lower margins of the flanges to form side pockets.These axes were made in moulds of two or more peices which allowed sophisitcated shapes to be made.
