Pipe bowl, circa 1800-1850

Argillite with inlaid haliotis shell and brass inlay?

Argillite is a kind of rock traditionally used by Haida artists. The carvings reflect ancient Haida traditions and myths. This pipe has three 'masks' one of which is carved on the base.
