Donated by Mrs Munro, 1984
Museum number 1984-16AB
This ornament has been made by grinding down the base of a cone shell, Conus lepoardus. It is decorated with small holes, some filled with dark pigment. A twisted fibre loop, probably hand-spun bark fibre, has been threaded and knotted so it can be hung like a pendant.
