Field collection: Mesolithic Morton excavation, Tayport, Fife
Collected by Dr John Coles

Donated by Mr GC Sim
Museum number 1976-942-1

Small oval pebble of pinkish quartzite with a polish on one surface. The narrower end is slightly abraded. We can tell from the patterns of wear on them that these pebbles were used as hammer stones or grinding stones. These stones were most likely collected from the beach at Morton.
