One of Japan's leading potters, Shigeoshi Ichino combines the traditions of East and West in his ceramics. His father, Tanso, was a master potter and worked closely with Bernard Leach, the founding father of British studio pottery. Ichino himself spent time at the Leach Pottery in St Ives in 1969.
