Romanelli’s signature motif is that his glass sculptures all incorporate a cast from part of his own body. Here the impression of the artist's face is subtly positioned at the top of the triangular column.
The actual casting treatment of this work is intriguing with the introduction of whispy ‘veilings’ – formed when layers of glass meet – and delicate air bubbles. The result is refined, poetic, ethereal and contemplative.
