Blackbird - click image to enlargeClick Image to EnlargeBlackbirds are common garden visitors. The black plumage and bright orange yellow beaks of the males, makes a striking contrast to the brown females. These urban birds often nest in gardens and can benefit from bird feeders, particularly in the winter.

The numbers of some other garden birds which were once very common such as house sparrows, are now decreasing across the country.
