Lynx - click image to enlargeClick Image to EnlargeLynx lived in the woodlands that covered Scotland after the Ice Age. It is thought that they were hunted to extinction by the tenth century.

Lynx are still found in Europe. They are woodland animals that prefer rugged country with plenty of cover. They are mainly nocturnal and eat mammals such as hares, rabbits, foxes and deer, and birds such as grouse.
