Wartime Army Boxing Championship Medal

Won by Dundonian Jim Thomas, a Scottish and British Army boxing champion during active service in World War Two.
Jim was professional boxer both before and after the war. He died in Dundee in March 2007, aged 88.

After completing his army service, Jim and his brother Alec ran the Belmont Boxing Club in Hawkhill. They trained local young boxers, including Dundee's1956 Olympic Gold medal champion Dick McTaggart.
