Scottish Arts Council Collection Bequest 1997
Museum number 1998-56

Malde studied photography at Bournemouth College of Art and later, graphics at Glasgow School of Art. He explains how he approaches his work, "I often start working in a manner similar to the Japanese Zen painters, i.e. with a feeling that I want to express rather that a precise graphic image; that will take care of itself as I start working. Hence the physical process of taking a photograph begins long before I press the shutter."
