Blacksmith with forge on deck of a Dundee whaling ship
Lantern slide made of glass with metal frame

Donated by Mr Robert Ferguson in 1975
Museum number 1975-2-4-35

This lantern slide shows a scene on the deck of a Dundee whaling ship. The view is looking aft from amidships, with the blacksmith in the foreground. He is wearing a white coat and a fur hat and is standing beside the bellows, forge and anvil of his trade. There are a number of tools on the ground at his feet.
