Captured whale being taken on board factory ship

This black and white photograph shows a whale being hauled aboard a factory ship. On the left, the mechanical claw known as a whale-grab can clearly be seen fastened around the tail of the whale, while a number of men are watching. The whale itself takes up most of the centre right of the picture, with the vast expanse of the vessel's deck obvious on the left.
