Certificate of The Natural History Society of Montreal within the John Wanless papers
Certificate made of paper
Donated by Miss Mary Tansley, 1957
Museum number 1957-423-42
This certificate is printed with black ink on white paper. There is a wide white border aound a heading, six lines of text and a number of signatures. The heading shows a bird of prey with a branch - perhaps an olive branch? - in its beak, with a scroll on either side. The words on the scroll read: 'Tandem Fit Surculus Arbor' and immediately beneath are the words 'The Natural History Society of Montreal established May 16th 1827.' The text says that John Wanless has become an 'ordinary member' on the 28th March 1867.
