Communion Pewter
Museum number Temp. Number 3306

Pewter, a mixture of tin copper and lead, can be easily worked into plates and drinking vessels, and has an attractive soft grey lustre. Communion sets (flagons, salvers, cups and bowls) made of pewter tended to be used by poorer parishes and other churches who could not afford silver.
