Photograph made of paper, mounted on card

Donated by Mr S. M. Summers, St Andrews, in 1969
Museum number 1972-358

This sepia print shows the crew of a ship posing for a photograph. There are twenty-three people in the picture, with three boys sitting in the front centre and a bearded man in a suit and bowler hat at the back right. Behind the men, on the left hand side, is a plaque that reads: 'Russell & Co; Shipbuilders, Port Glasgow Greenock.' On the extreme right of the crew,a fairly elaborate companionway leads to the quarterdeck. Mr Summers grandfather, Stuart McLeod, is in the photograph, second from right in back row.
