O'Donnell was influenced at first by Cartier Bresson. Working with a 35mm camera in the streets he "photographed everything that moved". He soon became aware of backdrops and took to photographing static objects and found himself increasingly drawn towards unusual shop and workshop interiors.
This picture of a fish shop window was taken in Clerk Street in Edinburgh.
