This sepia print shows a dead narwhal on the deck of the whaler 'Erik.' The picture is very dark so details are hard to decipher, but the narwhal in the the centre of the picture with two members of the crew immediately behind it. There is a whaleboat stored keel-uppermost above the crewmen, amidst a clutter of rigging and lines. In the background a man can be dimly seen standing on the quarterdeck.
