This farm in Perthshire is situated just behind the Carse of Gowrie, the flat stretch of land between Dundee and Perth.

More naturalistic than his work before the war, the paint is handled with a rich but fine impasto. This adds a highly textured effect to the course stonework and rough farmtrack.
