Grace Darling was twenty two when she rowed bravely with her father to save the nine 'Forfarshire' survivors stranded on the rocks.
Grace became a national celebrity receiving many honours and gifts including £50 from the people of Dundee.
Grace continued to live at the lighthouse with her family and died at the age of twenty six from tuberculosis.
