This photograph shows a group of Inuit boys at the rail of a whaling ship. There are fourteen boys in the picture, most wearing European clothes or a mixture of European and indigenous clothing. Some are standing up and leaning on the rail while others are sitting on the deck with their legs dangling over the side of the ship.
