This lantern slide shows a number of Inuits boarding the whaling ship 'Eclipse.' The ship is on the left of the picture, with the bows and foremast visible and a crowd of people standing well forward. There is a ladder from the bow of the ship to the ice and a number of Inuit are waiting to board.
