This sepia print shows a group of crewnmen from the Dundee whaling vessel 'Active.' There are ten men in the picture, centred around a lifebelt, with the name 'Active Dundee' on it. Two men are sitting in front of the belt, one directly behind and the rest are standing. The man standing central at the back is John Taylor, the Cook and an ancestor of the donor.
