Hoisting whalebone aboard the whaling ship S.S. 'Eclipse.'

This lantern slide shows a large piece of whalebone and a slab of blubber being lowered on to the deck of a Dundee whaling ship. The whalebone is in the centre of the picture, with the blubber on the right. There are a number of whaling men in the picture, with one gentleman in the right foreground wearing a full beard and holding a staff in his right hand.
