This lantern slide was taken on the deck of a Dundee whaling ship. It shows an Inuit mother holding the hand of her child.The mother is bare-headed, with her hair tied back. She is wearing a dark fur top with lighter bands around the hem and near the wrists. The child is also bare headed and wearing furs.
