This lantern slide shows a drawing of a ship amidst pack ice. The ship is in great trouble, heeling over to port with ice towering over her stern. There are broken slabs of ice all around her. The vessel's funnel is placed between the mainmast and the foremast, which is highly unusual as they were mostlt positioned further aft. The Dundee whaling ship 'Arctic II' had her funnel in this position, so it is just possible that this drawing depicts the sinking of that vessel.
