This letter was sent by Mr A. Adamson to Ferguson & Sons, Ltd, Sailmakers in February 1866. The letter is on thin blue paper with a red stamp of Queen Victoria in the top right hand corner. On the other side of the single folded sheet is the text, in which 'A. Adamson' is asking for sails to be made for his ship before he 'sails to Cardiff to load coals for China.' Underneath the request is a list of the type of sails Mr Adamson wants.
