Midnight Sun off the North Cape
Lantern slide made of glass with metal frame

Donated by Mr Robert Ferguson
Museum number 1975-2-4-78

This lantern slide shows a view of the midnight sun off the North Cape. The photograph was probably taken from the deck of a Dundee whaling ship and has the sun slightly right of centre of the picture, with the reflection wavering over the sea toward the camera. There is also a small boat just to the left of the sun's reflection and near the horizon.
