One of a series of Certificates of Discharge for Charles Myers, 1878

This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr Charles Myers in 1978. It says that Mr Myers was 57 years old and had been born in Heligoland. It also says he had been employed as a 'shipkeeper' from the 7th March 1878 to the 3rd November 1878. He had been on board the 278 ton, Dundee registered 'Victor', official number 19540, which had been at the 'Whale Fishing.' The ship master, William Adam, signed the bottom of the Certificate. On the reverse, Mr Myers was given a character of 'Very Good' for both ability and conduct.
