One of a series of Certificates of Discharge for Charles Myers, 1876

This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr Charles Myers in November 1876. It states that Mr Myers was aged 55 and had been born in Heligoland. It also states he had been employed as a cook on the Dundee registered, 358 ton ship 'Polynia' on a whaling voyage between the 3rd May 1876 and the 31st October 1876. 'Polynia' had the official number of 29451 and had engines of 60 horsepower; her master, David Kilgour, signed the bottom of the Certificate. On the reverse the Certificate stated that Mr Myers had a 'Very Good' character for both ability and conduct.
