One of a series of Certificates of Discharge issued to Mr Charles Myers, 1869

This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr Charles Myers in October 1869. It states that Mr Myers had been employed as a harpooner in the Dundee registered, 358 ton 'S. S. Polynia' between the 9th March 1869 and the 22nd October 1869. The Certificate also says that 'Polynia' had the official number of 29451, had a 60 horsepower engine and had been engaged at the 'Seal and Whale Fishing.' The ship master has signed the bottom of the certificate, while on the reverse it states that Mr Myers had a character of 'Very Good' for both ability and conduct.
