This Certificate of Discharge was issued by the Board of Trade and is dated November 1873. It states that Mr Myers was 52 years old and had been born in Heligoland. It also states he had been employed as a harpooner between the 1st May 1873 and the 4th November 1873, on the Dundee registered, 278 ton ship 'Victor.' This vessel, official number 19540, had been engaged at the whale fishing and had engines of 36 horsepower. The Master, John Edwards, signed at the bottom of the Certificate, while the reverse says that Mr Myers had a 'Very Good' character for both ability and conduct.
