This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr Charles Myers in 1872 and signed by the ship's master, Captain Gravill. The Certificate states that Mr Myers was aged 51 and had been born in Heligoland. It also says that he had been employed as a 'Spectioneer' on the Dundee registered, 424 ton ship 'Camperdown' on a voyage to the Davis Straits Whale Fishing that started on the 4th May 1872. Finally, the Certificate states that 'Camperdown' had the official number of 27497 and engines of 70 horsepower, while on the reverse, Mr Myers was given a character of 'Very Good' for both his conduct and ability.
