This document has 'Certificate of Discharge' across the top, with the logo of the 'Com. of Council For Trade' in the top left corner. It states that 'Henry Navill' was aged 28 and was born in Dundee. It also states he had been engaged as a 'Skeaman and Boat Steerer' on the 326 ton Dundee registered vessel 'Intrepid', official number 18504 on a voyage to Greenland. Mr Navill had been engaged between the 9th March 1881 and the 19th August 1881. The Master, Robert Davidson, had signed the bottom of the certificate and on the reverse had given Mr Navill a very good character for both ability and conduct.
