This document has 'Certificate of Discharge' across the top, with the logo of the 'Com. of Council For Trade' in the top left corner. It states that 'Henry Navill' was aged 36 and was born in Dundee. It also states he had been engaged on a 'Running Agreement on the 727 ton Dundee registered vessel 'Opal', official number 82747. Mr Navill had been engaged between the 28th December 1888 and the 7th February 1889. The Master, John Haddon, has signed the bottom of the certificate and on the reverse has given Mr Navill a character of 'Very Good' for both ability and conduct.
