This document has 'Certificate of Discharge' across the top, with the logo of the 'Com. of Council For Trade' in the top left corner. It states that 'Henry Navill' was aged 27 and was born in Dundee. It also states he had been engaged as a 'Boatsteerer' and half Skeaman on the 278 ton Dundee registered vessel 'Victor', official number 19540 on a voyage to the Greenlland Seal and Whale Fishing. Mr Navill had been engaged between the 26th February 1879 and the 7th August 1879. The Master, Robert Davidson, has signed the bottom of the certificate and on the reverse had given Mr Navill a very good character for both ability and conduct.
