One of ten Certificates of Discharge for David Petrie, 1866

This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr David Petrie in November 1866. It shows that he had been employed as a '1st Cooper' on the Dundee registered 'Intrepid' from the 26th March 1866 to the 16th October 1866. It also says that Mr Petrie had been born in Dundee in 1843 and had been awarded 'VG' for conduct and ability by the ship's master, Alexander Deuchars. Finally the Certificate stated that 'Intrepid' was a vessel of 326 tons with an official number of 18504.
