One of ten Certificates of Discharge for David Pirie, 1873

This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr David Petrie on the 25th April 1873. It shows that Mr Petrie was aged 30, had been born in Dundee and between the 25th February and the 25th April 1873 had been employed as a cooper on the Dundee registered ship 'Intrepid.' The Certificate also said that 'Interepid' was a vessel of 324 tons, with a55 horsepower engine and had the official number 18504. Her master, D. Souter had signed at the bottom of the Certificate. On the reverse, Mr Petrie was given the character of 'Very Good' for both ability and conduct.
