One of two Certificates of Discharge for Alexander Bruce. On 'Chieftain' 17/03/91 - 20/10/91

This Certificate of Discharge was issued to Mr Alexander Bruce on the 21st October 1891. It states that Mr Bruce was 28 years old and had been born in Aberdeen. It also states that Mr Bruce had been employed as a 'Skeaman & B.S.' on the Dundee registered vessel 'Chieftain', official number 62101. This vessel had a registered weight of 107 tons and had been working off Greenland. The master, 'D. Kilgour' signed the bottom of the Certificate, giving Mr Bruce a character of 'V.G.' for both ability and conduct.
