Photograph made of paper

Museum number 1968-83-3

This black and white photograph shows the quarterdeck of a model. The model is the whaling ship 'Eclipse' which sailed out of both Peterhead and Dundee. Central to the picture is the black-painted funnel, with the mizzen mast behind and square-sterned whaleboats hanging over the side to port and starboard. The photograph also shows that some of the rigging is broken and loose ends are trailing over the side.
