These three pipers of the Scots Guards, are wearing 'undress' uniform - a kilt of Royal Stewart tartan and a white 'drill' jacket. As a foot guards regiment, it was only the pipers of the Scots Guards who were kilted.
Soldiers, who collected material on their foreign postings, helped to establish the Museum's permanent collection.
