Pocket book belonging to Alexander Riddoch, Provost of Dundee from 1788 - 1819

Alexander Riddoch was an entrepreneur. He made his fortune in many ways, including through window glass production, linen weaving, thread spinning, importing tea, and property.

Some felt that he took advantage of his position on the Town Council to make the most of opportunities that presented themselves. He is buried in the Howff.
