Portrait of Shedule, an Inuit

Portrait of Shedule, an Inuit, 1894
Made of paper

This photograph shows an Inuit named Shedule or Shioodlue who came to Dundee in 1894. He is standing facing the camera wearing his native dress and with his hair braided. The background appears to be a canvas tent, so the photograph was probably taken in a studio.
