This document is headed 'Return of Deaths: Deaths of Members of the Crew.' On the top left side it has the logo of the 'General Register Office of Shipping and Seamen.' The form itself has the name of the ship 'Balaena' and its official number '99205.' Beneath that it states that on the 17th April 1897, at Shetland, Nicholas White, the 53 year old steward, born at Cork in Ireland, died of heart disease. The document was dated the 27th day of March 1901.
