Skinning walrus on the deck of a Dundee whaling ship
Lantern slide made of glass with metal frame

Donated by Mr Robert Ferguson in 1975
Museum number 1975-2-4-29

This lantern slide was taken on the deck of a Dundee whaling ship. It shows a number of crewmen skinning walrus, with the skins lying on the deck in front of them. The men have skins over angled boards and are stripping them with knives.
