This University certificate is printed with black ink on off-white paper. At the centre top is a circular coat of arms with a dark background enclosing a half hidden maple leaf and the words 'Coll: Medic: Et: Chirurg: Canad:Inf: Corp: AD. 1847.' scrolled around an inner circle with a drawing of two books, a royal coat of arms and a snake symbol. Beneath the prime coat of arms are the words 'Collegium Medicorum et Chirgorum, Canadae Inferioris' and text with the name 'Joanein R. Wanless' added in black ink. At the bottom left of the certificate is a slightly ragged green seal.
