A whale being flensed alongside 'Eclipse'
Lantern slide made of glass with metal frame

Donated by Mr Robert Ferguson in 1975
Museum number 1975-2-4-42

This lantern slide shows a whale being flensed alongside the Dundee whaling ship 'Eclipse.' The whale is between the ship and a whaleboat, which is nearest to the camera. There are a number of men in the whaleboat, and the whaling gun can be clearly seen in the bow. There are also men visible in the entry port of the whaling ship.
