Whaling crewman cutting trusks from a walrus skull

This lantern slide shows a scene on the deck of a Dundee whaling ship. A member of the crew is cutting the tusks from a number of walrus skulls. He is working on top of a block of wood and there is a small pile of tusks in front of him. There is nobody else on deck.
