Whaling ship in the River Tay
Glass lantern slide with metal frame

Museum number 1981-244-38

This lantern slide shows a whaling ship leaving Dundee, either in the late 19th or the early 20th century. The view is from the port quarter and shows the ship with no sails set but a flag on her mizzen and her whaleboats hanging on davits around her stern. There is also a small rowing boat in the left side of the picture.
