Drawing showing a ship rescuing men from an ice floe
Drawing made of paper
Museum number 1969-117-41
This drawing was clipped from a magazine. It shows a small group of men in a shelter formed from a ship's boat and a tarpaulin. The shelter is on top of a large ice floe in an Arctic landscape. One of the men is pointing to a ship that is steaming up. A caption beneath the picture says: 'The Survivors of the "Polaris" being rescued from an ice-floe on which they had been adrift for over six months.'
